 In this activity, Dr. Hollena had shown to us the PowerPoint of academic integrity. In the content of the PowerPoint, I have learned a lot. Firstly, I have learned the importance of writing and information skills in the academic world. Besides, there also had some rules for academic writing. For example, one of the basic rules is we must have clear and succinct writing. Also, one of the important rules in academic writing is we cannot use the first person in academic writing, for example, I and my. We can use the third person only in our academic writing.   Besides, I also learned about plagiarism. Plagiarism is the use of the vocabulary or thoughts of someone else without due acknowledgment. To avoid plagiarism, they can be paraphrased or outlined when you cite someone's thoughts. There are seven steps to avoid plagiarism. one of the steps was that we must cite our source.   Apart from that, I also learned presentation skills.  On 25 November 2020, Dr. Hollena had given a task to us, which is a library service activity. For this task, we had to go to the website, "Unimas Library One Search" to search for online books and e-journal with given call numbers(online book) and titles(e-journal). For the service, we need to briefly explain the functions of the service such as lockers, student lounge, 24 hours learning facility, and computer laboratories and their location. I have searched the call numbers of online books and titles of e-journals and printed screen as evidence. Below are the evidence that I have searched for online books and e-journals.      My academic advisor is Dr. Elexson Nillian. Previously, he engaged in his Bachelor's Degree in biotechnology at Universiti Industri Selangor (Unisel) in 2011. Then, he engaged in his Master of Science and Ph.D. of Philosophy in Food Safety at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2012. His area of expertise is Microbiology and Food Biotechnology. He is now with the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).
