Reflection 3: Library skills
On 25 November 2020, Dr. Hollena had given a task to us, which is a library service activity. For this task, we had to go to the website, "Unimas Library One Search" to search for online books and e-journal with given call numbers(online book) and titles(e-journal). For the service, we need to briefly explain the functions of the service such as lockers, student lounge, 24 hours learning facility, and computer laboratories and their location.
I have searched the call numbers of online books and titles of e-journals and printed screen as evidence. Below are the evidence that I have searched for online books and e-journals.

For the services, there have lockers, a student lounge, a 24-hour Learning Facility, and Computer Laboratories. I will briefly explain these services.
Lockers:
There are 615 lockers in the PeTARY Unimas, which we can lend for RM2 per month. If we wish to lend this locker, we may proceed to the Circulation Counter. The function of the locker is to keep our library materials such as books, journals, documents, etc. Foods and drinks are not allowed to keep in the locker. The locker room is located on the ground floor of the PeTARY Unimas.
Student lounge:
Student lounge is a place where students can gathering, studying and relaxing. Students are allowed to eat and drink in here and it's is open according to the PeTARY operation hour. Student lounge is located on the ground floor of the PeTARY Unimas.
24 Hour Learning Facility:
24 Hour Learning Facility provided a learning space for students after the PeTARY operation hour. It is located at the outside of the terrace of the building. The room accommodates with air-conditioning, furnished with tables and chairs, wifi, soft drink and also light food vending machine.
Computer Laboratories:
Computer laboratories allocate 54 units of computers for training, classes, workshop and exams. It is located on the ground floor of the PeTARY Unimas.
At the end of this activity, I have learned about how to use Library One Search, Library One Search act as a material location and PeTARY collection. Another one of its function is it can check the status of the material. we can key in the title, subjects and keywords in the search box that appeared on the homepage to search the books and journals we wanted. Borrowing is allowed by entering the PeTARY Online Booking by using the given link, petaryloan.ia.unimas.my. Besides, electronic resources can be accessed from the petary website. Firstly, we click the e-resources on the homepage. Then, we can choose either e-books, e-journals or online databases follow with our choice. One of the important things is we only can access and download the full articles subscribed by PeTARY.
Lastly, I have filled in the PeTARY information literacy feedback form at the end of the activity. I'm satisfied with this workshop and I'm confident in using the knowledge I have gained from this workshop.
